On Friday, 21 October John Fuller, solicitor with JW O’Donovan’s Corporate & Commercial team, slept out on the grounds of Cork City Gaol to raise funds for Focus Ireland. There has been a huge increase in homelessness in Ireland over the past decade. The number of families becoming homeless has increased by over 40% since last year and one in three of those in emergency accommodation is now a child. In June 2016, there were 2,177 children in emergency homeless accommodation with their families.
Focus Ireland is working to help people affected by homelessness. While the charity receives public funding they rely heavily on private donations and 33% of its budget in 2015 came from fundraising. JW O’Donovan is supporting John’s fundraising efforts and Focus Ireland is the firm’s chosen charity for donations in 2016.
Focus Ireland’s website- www.focusireland.ie – has lot of information about the valuable work done by the charity. If you would like to make a donation to John’s campaign you can do so here – https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/John-Fuller3
